ULPAN ACHVA, RISHON LEZION

 

Ulpan Achva is under the professional supervision and responsibility of the Department Of Adult Education in the Ministry Of Education.

 

Ulpan Achva is a learning institution that provides its students with knowledge of the Hebrew language and Israeli culture so that they can integrate into Israeli society. The ulpan is designed not only for teaching the language but also for social and cultural absorption.

 

Courses:

  1. Morning Ulpan for Beginners (Aleph) – About 500 hours, 5 days per week for 5 months.
  2. Evening Ulpan for Beginners (Aleph) – 5 days per week for about 6 months.
  3. Ulpan for Ages 60+ – 3 mornings per week for about 10 months.
  4. Occupational Ulpan – For new immigrants who have completed Ulpan Aleph. 150 hours in the morning or evening, at different levels. Includes a job search workshop.

 

Ulpan management determines placement of students and teachers in the classes. There may be changes during the course.

 

Student Requirements:

  1. Attend at least 80% of the course hours at the ulpan.
  2. Inform the teacher of absences.
  3. Perform all tasks given by the teacher including homework (writing, speaking, and computer exercises).
  4. Participate actively in all activities held while studying at the ulpan (workshops, lectures, ceremonies, etc.).
  5. Conditions for receiving a completion certificate: completion of a final national oral and written test given by the Ministry Of Education.
